We offer small-group classes for Elementary and Middle School-age students in Salem, Utah. We also offer private and semi-private tutoring for all school ages. For more information and to apply for available spots, please contact us.

Classes being offered for 2026-2027:
MW – Poetry and Prose (ages TBD by demand): 9:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
MW – Math and the World Around Us (levels TBD by demand): 12:30 – 2:45 p.m.
TTH – 9:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 – 2:45 p.m. Two of the following classes will be offered on these days according to demand:
1) Poetry and Prose 2) Math and the World Around Us 3) American History: Beginnings or A New Nation.
Class Descriptions:
Poetry and Prose (ages 7-14)
Ages 12-14:
– A study of the written English language through the best prose and poetry, with an emphasis on teaching students to interact with texts on a deeper level. This will include reading and discussing classical literature and creating new stories through Writer’s Workshop.
Ages 7-8 or 9-11:
– Language arts through authentic language experience and an integrated-humanities approach, using the power of stories, poetry, music, drama, and visual arts as a lens for learning, gently incorporating English language skills through oral and written means.
Math and the World Around Us (Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 for ages 7+)
– Charlotte Mason-inspired math instruction combined with the exploration of basic geography and nature through hands-on experience, art, stories, and poetry.
American History (ages 11+)
Two Options:
Beginnings – A study of the United States of America from Columbus through the Constitutional Convention in 1787, exploring the principles and ideas that framed the American spirit and the founding of our nation through stories, first-hand accounts, and hands-on activities.
A New Nation – A study of the new nation following the ratification of the Constitution of the United States. We will look closely at the Constitution of the United States and then visit the war of 1812, westward expansion, the Great Awakening, the Restoration of the gospel, the events surrounding the Civil War, and the Emancipation Proclamation.
Private/semi-private tutoring: all ages
In-Person Classes for the 2025-26 school year:
Poetry and Prose (ages 8-14), twice per week, MW and TTh, 9:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
MW class, ages 8-10; TTh class, ages 9-11:
– Language arts through authentic language experience and an integrated-humanities approach, using the power of stories, poetry, music, drama, and visual arts as a lens for learning, gently incorporating English language skills through oral and written means.
Number and the World Around Us (Ages 9-11) Thursdays, 12:30-2:45 p.m.
– We will explore math, basic geography, and nature, including stars, through hands-on experience, art, stories, and poetry.
Class Tuition
Tuition for the 2026-27 school year is $165/student/class/month. We charge a flat monthly rate for each class, which averages out over the course of the year to be 7 classes per month and includes cost of materials. A minimum of three students per class is required for the class to proceed.
Tutoring rates (all ages):
Private tutoring: $25/hr; semi-private, 2 students: $18/student/hr
