Keeping class running without disruption requires that all parties share certain priorities. The first priority is attendance. Because we have small classes, the missing of class has an impact upon other students in the class. We ask that attendance be a priority for you and that you make every effort to avoid absences for reasons other than illness.
Please be on time dropping off and picking up your students. We have limited time with your children and want to use the time we have with them to the fullest. Please drop off students at 5 minutes before the start time for class. For morning classes, that makes 9:40 a.m. the drop-off time. Please do not drop them off before 9:40. Once class has ended, a fee may be charged if we have students lingering more than fifteen minutes past the end of class.
The health of our students and teachers is another priority. If your child has signs of illness (runny nose, coughing, fever, etc.), please do not bring them to class. We want to have a safe learning environment for everyone and keep class running as scheduled.
If your child misses class, we can work with you in some cases to provide activities that can be done at home. You will not be refunded for days your child is sick or misses class.
If a private tutoring session needs to be missed, funds can be transferred to another date. If missing appointments becomes a pattern, services may be terminated.
We reserve the right to cancel class for extenuating circumstances. If class is cancelled, we will try to schedule a makeup day; alternatively, tuition for that day can be applied to the next month’s tuition or to tutoring.
Tuition is non-refundable. You may choose to pay tuition monthly, by trimester, or by semester. You will be invoiced for whichever payment plan you choose. If paying monthly, tuition is due by the 1st of each month. After the 10th day and one reminder, a late charge of 2% will be assessed.
Students cannot learn when they are hungry or dehydrated. Please send a water bottle that can be refilled with your child. If your child is enrolled in a full day, please send him/her with a fully prepared lunch and with any snacks you feel may be needed. We may occasionally provide a pre-packaged treat. Please inform us of any allergies your child has.
We do not provide a lot of busy work, worksheets, testing, or grades. We assess student needs as we work with students. We may use worksheets as an occasional tool. If you do not see “work” coming home, it is because we are spending class time in discussion and authentic learning experiences. We provide binders and/or notebooks for them to keep in class that will contain their work/writing. We can send your student’s binder/notebook home upon request and ask that it be sent back with the student the very next class.
